ATC remands 23 workers of banned religious party in police custody

LAHORE, Nov 24 (APP):An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday approved the physical remand of 23 workers of a banned religious party in arson and rioting cases.
Police produced the detained workers before ATC Administrative Judge Manzer Ali Gill and requested for physical remand.
The court approved the request and handed over 23 accused to police for further investigation.
The court also sent 18 workers to jail for an identification parade. The suspects were brought to court with their faces covered.
Meanwhile, the court discharged three workers from the case due to insufficient evidence.
The court further ordered that seven workers, whose physical remand had been completed, be sent to jail on judicial remand.
Police had registered cases against the accused in different police stations of the city. The accused are facing charges of arson, rioting, and creating a law-and-order disturbance during a recent protest by the party.
