MUZAFFARGARH , Nov 24 (APP):A police prison van transporting inmates from Dera Ghazi Khan to Layyah collided with a tractor-trolley near Sandila Chowk on Monday after its brakes reportedly failed, leaving the driver critically injured.
According to Rescue 1122 sources, the accident occurred when the van failed to stop in time and crashed into the tractor-trolley, causing serious injuries to the driver, identified as Muhammad Tariq.
Rescue 1122 teams arrived at the scene, administered first aid, and then transported the injured driver to Turki Hospital in Muzaffargarh for further treatment. The prison van was severely damaged in the collision.
Initial reports suggest that the incident was caused by suspected brake failure in the police vehicle. A further investigation is currently underway.
