MANSEHRA, Nov 24 (APP):President PML-N Hazara Division and Parliamentary Leader in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly, Sardar Shahjehan Yousaf on Monday congratulated the people of Haripur and Hazara Division for the party’s decisive victory in the NA-18 by-election, calling it the beginning of change in KP.
Sardar Shahjehan Yousaf said the people of Haripur had once again proved that Hazara remained the heart of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and that the by-polls victory was a strong reflection of public trust in the party.
He said the election had been highly challenging due to the massive interference of the provincial chief minister and active involvement of provincial departments in the rival campaign. Despite pressure, he said, polling staff and government employees performed their duties impartially and deserved appreciation.
He criticized the KP chief minister for immature and hollow statements, adding that the provincial leadership still needed to understand the principles and responsibilities of politics.
Other PML-N leaders also expressed satisfaction over the victory, stating that the wave that had dominated the province’s political landscape in recent years was now fading and a period of stability was expected to follow. “We are going to Haripur to congratulate our candidate Babur Nawaz Khan and the people of Haripur,” they said, while praising senior party figures Captain (R) Safdar, Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Sardar Mohammad Yousaf, Ameer Muqam, Dr. Ibad, and Mansehra-based party workers for their commitment during the campaign.
Sardar Shahjehan Yousaf said the result had opened the way for the party’s resurgence in Hazara. “InshaAllah, PML-N will return to Hazara with the same strength as before,” he added.
