Three terrorists involved in FC Headquarters attack were Afghan nationals: Report

PESHAWAR, Nov 24 (APP):Initial investigation and police report on Monday confirmed that all three terrorists involved in an attack on the Federal Corps (FC) Headquarters in Peshawar were Afghan nationals.
According to police, an initial investigation report has been prepared, revealing the identities and nationalities of the attackers. Weapons and explosives were also recovered from the deceased militants. The report further added that the specific identity of the Afghan terrorists is being ascertained.
The police report states that one suicide bomber approached the main gate of the FC Headquarters on foot from the Sunehri Masjid Road side. The attacker, who was draped in a shawl, detonated himself at the security checkpoint, instantly martyring three FC personnel.
Immediately after the explosion, two more militants entered the FC Headquarters through a side gate. Both attackers were armed with rifles and hand grenades. After entering, they moved towards the motorcycle parking area, where they opened fire. The forces responded swiftly, killing both attackers within 30–40 meters of the main gate.
According to the report, the militants intended to take hostages, as the headquarters hosts senior officers, a large number of personnel and training activities. Security forces later cleared the entire FC compound.
Police and FC personnel said all three attackers were Afghan nationals,adding that further investigation is underway.
