ISLAMABAD, Nov 24 (APP):In a major development signaling a new phase of bilateral engagement, Pakistan and China have released a comprehensive Joint Action Plan aimed at building an “even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future” between 2025 and 2029.
The plan outlines a sweeping roadmap that is expected to deliver far-reaching economic, political and security benefits for both countries.
While addressing the “the third conference on belt and road integrated development of culture and technology” held in Beijing, Muhammad Zamir Assadi, Media Fellow at the China International Press and Communication Centre, said that the two sides reaffirm their status as “good neighbors, friends, partners and brothers,” pledging to elevate their all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.
China has reiterated that its relationship with Pakistan remains a cornerstone of its foreign policy, underscoring Islamabad’s exceptional importance in Beijing’s long-term strategic vision.
Under the newly unveiled plan, Pakistan and China have committed to strengthening political mutual trust, expanding economic engagement, deepening security cooperation and strengthening people-to-people ties.
Officials believe these steps will not only boost regional stability but also set a model for China’s broader cooperation with neighboring states.
The action plan emphasizes enhanced strategic communication and unwavering mutual support in international and regional affairs.
A central focus of the plan is the next phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, which both sides reaffirmed as the flagship of Belt and Road cooperation.
The two countries have agreed to align the CPEC’s Five Corridors with Pakistan’s URAAN Program, anchored in the 5Es strategy of exports, E-Pakistan, environment and climate resilience, energy and infrastructure, and equity and empowerment.
This alignment is expected to accelerate Pakistan’s economic modernization, strengthen its connectivity networks, and attract new rounds of industrial, digital and investment cooperation.
Beijing’s commitment to its “eight major steps” for advancing high-quality Belt and Road development is anticipated to further open doors for Pakistan in green energy, digital transformation, and innovation-led growth.
Officials note that new “small and beautiful” livelihood projects alongside major infrastructure schemes will directly benefit the Pakistani public by improving local services, job creation and community-level development.
Security cooperation will also see substantial deepening, with both sides emphasizing high-level security protocols to safeguard CPEC projects, ensure regional stability and counter emerging challenges.
Experts believe this renewed security alignment signals a shared determination to protect long-term economic gains and maintain strategic equilibrium in the region.
With the 2025-2029 roadmap now officially launched, policymakers and analysts expect the joint action plan to energize bilateral ties, unlock fresh economic opportunities, expand regional connectivity, and usher Pakistan and China into a new era of development partnership built on mutual trust and shared prosperity.
