PESHAWAR, Nov 24 (APP):Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) Spokesman here on Monday said that nine injured victims from the FC headquarters blast have been shifted to the hospital and treatment is being provided to them.
Mohammad Asim, Spokesman of LRH, told the media that the injured are in stable condition and are receiving medical treatment in different wards and the Emergency department.
He said the wounded include three FC personnel and six civilians.
The spokesman said an emergency has been declared at LRH and doctors on leave have been called for duty.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General told reporters that there had been no specific threat alert regarding the assault on the FC headquarters.
He said that timely action allowed security personnel to bring the situation under control quickly.
The IGP said that similar attacks in the province’s southern districts had recently been foiled and that a province-wide security review was conducted last week.
He said three FC personnel were martyred and nine were injured when a suicide bomber detonated explosives at the gate of the FC headquarters in Peshawar.
He said that all three militants involved in the attack were killed. He added that all three terrorists were suicide bombers; one detonated his explosives at the gate while two managed to enter the compound at 8:10 am, but were shot and killed by security forces in swift action.
Rescue 1122 Director General Tayyab Abdullah said it deployed more than 50 emergency workers, along with six ambulances and fire vehicles.
