RAWALPINDI, Nov 23 (APP):Rawalpindi police conducted large-scale search operations across various parts of the city to curb criminal activity here on Sunday.
During the operations, police checked 1,278 houses, 1,143 shops, 42 hotels, 5 hostels, and verified the records of 2,486 individuals.
The authorities also inspected two scrapyards, a hostel, and a bus/truck stand, along with scrutinizing tenant registration data in multiple localities.
Police detained 19 Afghan nationals residing illegally, while four separate cases were registered against individuals who failed to comply with mandatory tenant registration requirements.
The search operations were conducted in the jurisdictions of Pirwadhai, Ganjmandi, City, Waris Khan, Banni, New Town, Sadiqabad, Ratta Amral, Chontra, Gujar Khan, Dhamiyal, Rawat, Jatli, Naseerabad, Cantt and Westridge police stations.
The spokesman said the operations aim to strengthen law and order, prevent crime, and ensure the safety of citizens.
He added that all available resources are being utilized to uphold the rule of law across the district.
