HARIPUR, Nov 23 (APP):The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken strict notice after reports that some voters made ballot papers viral on social media during the NA-18 Haripur by-election.
A spokesperson for the Provincial Election Commissioner Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday said the District Returning Officer (DRO) and Returning Officer (RO) have been directed to ensure complete secrecy of the ballot and enforce all regulations inside polling stations.
The spokesperson added that clear instructions were issued to all security agencies through the control room, stating that no voter should be allowed to take a mobile phone inside the polling station. The directive aims to ensure the secrecy of the vote and prevent any misuse of polling materials.
The ECP reiterated that maintaining ballot secrecy is essential to ensuring free, fair and transparent elections.
