BAHAWALPUR, Nov 23 (APP):The Institute of Agro Industry, the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, Islamia University of Bahawalpur organized a walk, a seminar and poster display to highlight the hazards of smog and its eradication measures.
The event was participated by a large number of students and faculty members, demonstrating a strong institutional commitment to environmental health.
On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran emphasized the need for collective action against air pollution. He said the steps taken by the Punjab government to combat smog were commendable, adding that provision of anti-smog vehicles had significantly reduced smog in cities.
“Modern equipment have been installed in major cities of Punjab for air quality index monitoring,” he said, adding that in this regard, the Punjab government has installed two equipment in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur for air quality monitoring of Bahawalpur, which had been installed in Baghdad ul Jadeed and Abbasia Campuses.
