FAISALABAD, Nov 23 (APP):City Traffic Police (CTP) deployed more than 600 personnel to ensure smooth vehicular flow, organized parking and uninterrupted public movement across the city during the by-election.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Nasir Javed Rana said here on Sunday that special deployment includes 38 traffic inspectors and seven DSPs who would monitor duty across major roads, intersections and polling station routes.
He said that dedicated traffic staff had been assigned to manage parking arrangements at all polling stations to facilitate voters and prevent congestion around sensitive areas.
Under the plan, traffic personnel would remain on high alert at busy points, commercial zones, main roads and important crossroads to maintain disciplined traffic flow throughout the polling day, he added.
He said the strategy would help minimize disruptions and ensure smooth access to polling stations and provide swift assistance wherever required.
Traffic Police also set up a special “Election Traffic Monitoring Room” for real-time management of traffic conditions and immediate coordination with field teams, the CTO said and urged the citizens to cooperate with traffic staff and contact the traffic helpline 1915 in case of any difficulty or obstruction on roads.
