Senate Standing Committee’s Chairman vows to develop Pak PWD in Quettta

QUETTA, Nov 21 (APP): A 13-member delegation of committee members led by Standing Committee Chairman Nasir Mahmood chaired a meeting regarding the audit of assets of the State office and Pak PWD to address important issues of it for development of the sector.
On this occasion, Additional Secretary Housing and Works Arif Mahmood and Director General State Office and Works Obaiduddin briefed the committee members on the details of the central government buildings for the past 5 years, including the repair of government buildings, payment of utility bills, employee affairs, expenditure on new projects, income and development activities.
Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Housing and Works Nasir Mahmood said that the condition of the residential quarters of the Federal Lodges would be improved at all costs.
In this regard, he issued instructions to the DG and Joint Secretary to take immediate steps in this regard, so that government officers should move to government quarters instead of staying in hotels, which could reduce the expenses of government departments.
On this occasion, Managing Director Muhammad Shahid, PHA-F gave a briefing on the issues of the residential project, including matters related to project contractors, allottees, and NLC.
The Chairman Standing Committee said that the project contractors should complete their contracts as per their scheduled timetable, and the MD should make payments to the project contractors on time so that the project work is completed on time.
