ISLAMABAD, Nov 21 (APP):The Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC) has reiterated its firm commitment to protecting the academic interests of students, following key concerns raised during the recent meeting of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on National Health Services.
The Council emphasized that students are an integral part of the system and that their future will not be compromised under any circumstances.
In an official statement, PM&DC acknowledged the reservations expressed by students, parents, and other stakeholders, assuring them that the Council is actively working on practical and durable solutions.
The Council highlighted its resolve to maintain uniform, transparent, and fair examination standards across the country.
Strengthening digitalization and standardization processes, PM&DC aims to ensure that every student is evaluated on merit and receives equal academic opportunities.
Addressing the issue of vacant seats in medical and dental colleges, PM&DC confirmed that it is collaborating closely with universities and the Law Division to prepare a legally robust and transparent mechanism.
This plan is intended to prevent seat wastage and ensure that all eligible candidates are accommodated in a timely and efficient manner.
The Council also noted its ongoing coordination with the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) to maintain fairness between Cambridge-system and local board students.
PM&DC stressed that it is committed to ensuring transparent grade conversions and equitable academic facilitation for all foreign-system candidates.
Reasserting its student-centered approach, PM&DC stated that it is dedicated to safeguarding students’ academic futures.
Every policy decision, the Council said, is grounded in the principles of merit, transparency, and strict adherence to national standards.
