LAHORE, Nov 21 (APP):Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has said that a letter written by members of the US Congress to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is a highly encouraging development, reflecting international admiration for her leadership.
In a statement on Friday, Azma Bokhari said American lawmakers have acknowledged Maryam Nawaz’s strong and progressive leadership, particularly praising her landmark reforms in the brick-kiln industry and initiatives for labour rights.
She said the US Congress has termed Maryam Nawaz’s environmental protection measures and her efforts to eradicate forced labour ‘highly commendable’. The modern brick-kiln model introduced in Punjab has been declared an exemplary framework for the entire region.
According to Bokhari, US legislators also recognised that Maryam Nawaz’s reforms have opened attractive investment avenues for American companies. By eliminating forced labour from brick kilns, the Punjab government has fulfilled key international commitments, making the province a more appealing destination for global investors.
The letter further states that Punjab has the potential to emerge as a gateway for future economic cooperation, describing the Maryam Nawaz government’s vision as a model for South Asia. The U.S. Congress also applauded Punjab’s role in ending forced labour in the brick-kiln sector.
Azma Bokhari added that Maryam Nawaz is performing her responsibilities with dedication and sincerity, which is why her initiatives for public welfare and development are gaining recognition at the international level.
