SMIU’s PhD student conducts research on ‘Identifying Human Behavior by using Textual Data’

KARACHI, Nov 21 (APP): Sindh Madressatul Islam student Asia Samreen has become the second PhD holder of SMIU who has completed her PhD in the year 2025. She, besides her thesis, completed all requirements of the Higher Education Commission.
Asia Samreen gave the final defense presentation on her thesis titled “Intelligent Presentation Scheme (IPS) to Identify Human Behavior using Textual Data” at the Senate Hall of SMIU on Wednesday, November 19.
The Vice Chancellor of SMIU Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, presided over the session. Besides the supervisor of the student, Dr. Syed Asif Ali, deans of different faculties, senior faculty of SMIU, and external experts attended the session.
She said in her research she has given findings about the textual data that can be used to reveal hidden intentions, thoughts, sentiments, or emotions that can help to predict the forthcoming activities of individuals.
She said that behavior identification through technology can resolve the fear of scamming efficiency. Furthermore, there is no need to kick them out; rather, restrict them or mark them as under observation to improve the privacy of the social network.
In her presentation, she thanked Sindh Madressatul Islam University and its Vice Chancellor, Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, for the promotion of research culture at the university. She also thanked the supervisor of her PhD, Dr. Syed Asif Ali, and the evaluators.
Replying to the questions from the experts, she said that the implementation of her research is that through a software we may identify the intentions of a person who wants to commit suicide or is trying to commit fraud.
Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, lauded Samreen for her presentation. He said that she has done good research work that will surely benefit the country and the nation.
Dr. Sahrai said that in the present day world, students have more facilities than students of the past.
