RAWALPINDI, Nov 21 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested 4 suspected drug traffickers, including a Nigerian national, and seized 417.69 kilograms of narcotics valued at Rs 375 million during 7 operations conducted across the country, an ANF Headquarters spokesman said on Friday.
He informed that 93 grams of heroin concealed in a woman’s purse were recovered from a parcel booked for the United Kingdom at a courier office in Karachi. In another operation in the city, 348,000 diazepam tablets weighing 106.8 kilograms were seized from a motorcyclist near a courier office.
The spokesman added that 75 grams of cocaine were recovered from a Nigerian national at a bus stop on the Expressway in Islamabad. During an operation in Peshawar, 9.6 kilograms of opium were seized from a vehicle near a bus stop on GT Road, leading to the arrest of the accused.
Similarly, one kilogram of ice was recovered from a vehicle near University Tower on Nasir Bagh Road, Peshawar, and the accused was arrested.
In another major action, 300 kilograms of heroin were recovered from the Master Plan District in Chaman. During a separate operation, 130 grams of cocaine were seized from an abandoned secret parcel at the Chaman border.
Cases have been registered against all arrested suspects under the Narcotics Control Act, while further investigations are underway.
