LAHORE, Nov 20 (APP): An accountability court on Thursday summoned prosecution witnesses in the corruption reference, filed against former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and others for allegedly receiving kickbacks in development projects in Gujrat.
The court adjourned further proceedings until December 9.
Judge Rana Muhammad Arif heard the case and directed NAB to ensure the production of all witnesses for recording their statements. The court was informed that co-accused Sohail Asghar Awan has turned approver in the case.
During the hearing, Parvez Elahi did not appear personally; instead, his representative Mukhtar Ranjha attended on his behalf. Former principal secretary to chief minister, Muhammad Khan Bhatti, along with other accused, was also in attendance.
NAB has already filed the reference, alleging corruption and kickbacks in various development scheme in Gujrat, and the court has framed charges against Parvez Elahi and the other accused.
