ISLAMABAD, Nov 20 (APP): National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, on Thursday stated that children are the architects of the nation’s future and their well-being, protection, and education must remain a collective priority for both the state and society.
In his message on the occasion of World Children’s Day, the Speaker said that secure, educated, and empowered children are the guarantee of a prosperous future.
He stressed that it is the shared responsibility of the state, parents, teachers, and society at large to provide children with education, protection, and equal opportunities so they can realise their fullest potential.
Highlighting the challenges faced by children in Pakistan and around the world, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq expressed concern over issues such as poverty, child labour, and violence, which continue to hinder the growth and development of children. He reaffirmed Parliament’s commitment to safeguarding children’s rights and promoting their welfare.
The Speaker underscored that the Parliament has taken significant legislative measures to protect children, including the introduction of the Islamabad Child Marriage Restraint Act 2025, aimed at preventing underage marriages and ensuring a safer environment for young children, especially girls.
He further noted that the Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights has been actively working to promote and protect children’s rights across the country. The caucus continues to play a crucial role in shaping policies, raising awareness, and monitoring the implementation of laws that safeguard children’s welfare.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq highlighted that a comprehensive National Road-map for Child Welfare is essential for addressing children’s needs in areas such as health, education, nutrition, and protection.He added that the role of parents and teachers is indispensable in shaping children’s character, guiding their behaviour, and supporting their overall development.
He emphasized that effective coordination and communication between parents and teachers is crucial for ensuring a better future for children. By working together, families, schools, and policymakers can create an enabling environment where every child can thrive.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq reaffirmed the commitment of the Parliament and the government to continue working for the welfare, protection, and empowerment of children across Pakistan.
