ISLAMABAD, Nov 20 (APP):The Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) on Thursday served notices to respondents in a case regarding broadcasting of Indian content on Pakistani channels.
In 2016, PEMRA had decided in a meeting that Indian content would not be aired in Pakistan. Initially, 10 percent of Indian content was allowed to be broadcast while granting the license.
Later, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, as Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, suspended the PEMRA’s notification in 2017.
In today’s hearing, the Federal Court issued notices to the parties and adjourned the hearing indefinitely.
