ISLAMABAD, Nov 20 (APP):Portugal’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Frederico Silva, will begin a six-day visit to Sindh and Karachi from 21 to 26 November 2025, with meetings and field visits aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
Portugal’s Ambassador Frederico Silva will hold a series of meetings in Karachi with political, community, and cultural representatives. His schedule includes an official meeting with the Chief Minister of Sindh, as well as engagements with the Archbishop of Karachi, the Karachi Goan community, and local cultural figures, said in Portugal embassy press release.
During the visit, the Ambassador will also pay respects at the Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum and tour several historic and cultural sites across the city. He will attend the World Culture Festival 2025 at the Karachi Arts Council and take part in the Adab Literary Festival, where he is expected to meet writers, artists, and members of Karachi’s creative community. Meetings with business representatives are also part of his agenda.
A key part of the programme includes visits arranged by the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). These visits will take place in Karachi and in District Thatta, where the Ambassador will meet communities and review development initiatives led by various AKDN agencies.
He will visit education and health facilities, infrastructure projects, and interact with students, faculty, and leadership at Aga Khan University, AKU-IED, and Aga Khan Education Services. The purpose of these engagements is to observe ongoing development work and exchange views on future cooperation.
The visit aims to support broader ties between Portugal and Pakistan through diplomatic outreach, cultural exchanges, and interaction with local institutions.
