LAYYAH, Nov 20 (APP): The district authorities have ordered for immediate closure of all coal kilns as part of measures to curb rising smog levels.
The decision was announced during a meeting with kiln owners, chaired by Assistant Commissioner Haris Hameed Khan, and attended by Assistant Director Environment Muhammad Arshad Chughtai.
The assistant commissioner stated that any violation of the closure orders would lead to strict legal action. The Assistant Commissioner noted that coal kilns significantly contribute to air pollution, posing serious risks to public health, especially during the smog season.
He stressed that compliance with government instructions was mandatory and added that the administration will take all necessary steps to improve environmental conditions and safeguard citizens’ health. He warned that negligence in this matter would not be tolerated.
