ISLAMABAD, Nov 20 (APP):The output of the Large Scale Manufacturing Industries (LSMI) witnessed an increase of 4.08 per cent during the first three months of fiscal year 2025-26 compared to the same months of last year, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.
On year-on-year basis, the LSMI’s production also increased by 2.69 percent during September 2025 when compared with that of September 2024.
On month-on-month basis, the LSMI’s production in June 2025, also increased by 2.05 per cent when compared with August 2025.
The provisional quantum indices of Large Scale Manufacturing Industries (LSMI) for September 2025, with the base year 2015-16, have been developed based on the latest data supplied by the source agencies.
The main contributors towards overall growth of 4.08% are Food (0.91), Tobacco (0.05), Textile (0.34), Garments (0.42), Paper & Board (0.13), Petroleum Products (-0.26), Chemicals (-0.19), Pharmaceuticals (-0.30), Cement (0.83), Iron & Steel Products (-0.16), Electrical Equipment (0.11), Machinery and Equipment (-0.04), Automobiles (1.84), Other Transport Equipment (0.20), and Furniture (-0.40).
The production in July-September 2025-26 as compared to July-September 2024-25 has increased in Food, Tobacco, Wearing Apparel, Non-Metallic Mineral Products, Electrical Equipment, Automobiles, and Other Transport Equipment, while it decreased in Beverages, Textile, Chemical Products, Iron & Steel Products, Machinery and Equipment, and Furniture.
