ISLAMABAD, Nov 20 (APP): Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday said that the government was taking all possible measures for a better future for children, including legislation, institutional reforms, and significant steps at the policy level.
The acting president, in his message on World Children’s Day, annually observed on November 20, emphasized that the education, health, protection, and welfare of children should be among the priorities of both the state and society.
Calling the children a precious asset of any nation and the hope for a bright future, Gilani said that various parliamentary forums were playing an active role in protecting children’s rights and promoting their welfare.
He also stressed that the upbringing of children was a shared responsibility in which parents, teachers, educational institutions, and society as a whole must effectively play their roles, as only safe, educated, and confident children could guarantee a bright future for the country.
The acting president assured that the state was committed to continuing all possible efforts to fully protect children’s rights and ensure their well-being.
