LAHORE, Nov 20 (APP):The Punjab Environment Protection Agency, in collaboration with the Punjab Safe City Authority, has launched a major crackdown across Lahore targeting vehicles operating without mandatory Green Stickers.
According to department spokesperson Sajid Bashir, a sharp rise in enforcement measures has been initiated under a zero-tolerance policy and more than 2,000 e-challans have been issued within just four days, adding that operations will become even more stringent in the coming days.
Under the new enforcement mechanism, repeat offenders face doubled fines, while third-time violators will have their vehicles impounded on the spot. The official confirmed that a complete ban has now been imposed on the movement of vehicles without a Green Sticker both within Lahore city limits and on the motorway.
The spokesperson further warned that any vehicle found with a fake or self-made sticker will face immediate legal action, including heavy fines and confiscation of the vehicle. Check-posts, Traffic Police units, and Anti-Enforcement squads have been placed on high alert, with continuous checkpoints and spot inspections underway across the provincial capital.
Issuing a strong public advisory, the spokesperson urged citizens not to drive without a valid Green Sticker, emphasizing that challans and vehicle seizure are now “certain and unavoidable” for violators.
