Five new dengue cases reported in last 24 hours

RAWALPINDI, Nov 19 (APP):A significant reduction in dengue cases has been observed as the District Health Authority (DHA), Rawalpindi reported only five new confirmed dengue cases in the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
According to the latest data released by the health authority, the total number of confirmed cases in the district this year reached 1,553.
Similarly, the admitted cases have also reduced as currently, only 13 patients in hospitals across the district are under treatment. Moreover, till date no death has been reported due to dengue so far. A total of 23,828 suspected patients have been screened in hospitals throughout the year.
In ongoing vector surveillance activities health teams have checked over 6.64 million houses, finding larvae in 214,345 premises. More than 1.97 million outdoor spots were also inspected, with 29,302 found positive for larvae.
Authorities have taken strict punitive action, registering 4,852 FIRs, sealing 1,945 properties, issuing 3,767 challans, and imposing fines totaling over Rs 11.45 million against violations of dengue SOPs.
