Ayub Teaching Hospital modernizes gastroenterology ward to provide uninterrupted services

ABBOTTABAD, Nov 19 (APP):Ayub Teaching Hospital has taken a major step toward modernizing its Gastroenterology Ward, ensuring uninterrupted medical services for patients in the Hazara Division under the Health Facility Program.
The ward, which previously faced disruptions due to a shortage of endoscopes, has now been equipped with three new endoscopes, while five older endoscopes have been repaired and reactivated. This upgrade ensures that patient care continues without interruption, according to Member Board of Governors, Professor Dr. Alam Zeb Manan.
As part of the modernization initiative, Professor Dr. Alam Zeb Manan, along with Hospital Director Dr. Sajjad Ahmed Afridi and Medical Director Professor Dr. Saqib Malik, visited the ward and officially inaugurated the new endoscopy system. During the visit, Professor Manan personally conducted an endoscopy and expressed satisfaction with the advanced facilities and quality services now available.
Head of the Gastroenterology Ward, Professor Dr. Adil Naseer Khan, briefed the team on the ward’s services, modern equipment, and operational systems, including the FibroScan system. He emphasized that the new setup will allow the hospital to provide comprehensive and sustainable healthcare services to patients across the region.
The Gastroenterology Ward now offers key procedures such as ERCP, colonoscopy, and endoscopy through the Health Facility Program, greatly benefiting patients in Hazara Division.
The hospital administration stated that providing modern, safe, and high-quality treatment remains its mission, and efforts to further improve and upgrade medical facilities will continue in the future.
