DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Nov 19 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Abdul Nasir has urged all parents to get their children vaccinated during the ongoing Measles-Rubella campaign.
He expressed these views while chairing a meeting to review the drive.
He said the youths were considered as architect of the country’s future, thus that timely immunization was essential to protect the younger population from potentially dangerous diseases like measles and rubella. The meeting was attended by officials from the health, education and other relevant departments.
It examined field deployment, assessed challenges encountered during the initial days of the drive, and issued directions to ensure smooth and effective implementation of the remaining phase of the campaign.
It was informed that the district-wide Measles and Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign, launched on November 17, was underway and would continue until November 29.
Under the campaign, all children aged between six months and five years are being administered the MR vaccine free of cost at designated centres and through mobile teams.
