MULTAN, Nov 19 (APP):The Women University Multan (WUM) on launched the “Circle Baaji Chatbot” during an awareness seminar aimed at enhancing students’ digital skills, career readiness, entrepreneurial capacity, and confidence.
According to a university spokesperson, the seminar was organized by Circle Women Association in collaboration with the Institute of Computer Sciences & IT. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kulsoom Piracha attended the event as chief guest, while Dr. Adeelah Saeed (Director Students Affairs), Dr. Khadija Kanwal (Chairperson Computer Sciences), Dr. Sarah Musaddiq, and Dr. Asma Akbar were also present.
Hosted by Dr. Asma Akbar, the session focused on the transformative role of modern technology and artificial intelligence in education. Speakers highlighted how digital tools are creating new academic, research, and professional opportunities for female students.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between WUM and Circle Women Association.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Maqbool Hussain shed light on Circle’s mission, noting that although women constitute 52 percent of Pakistan’s population, only one percent participate in business-related activities. Circle aims to bridge this gap through technology-driven initiatives across more than 100 cities, with partners including the State Bank of Pakistan, Microsoft, and various government bodies.
He shared that over 30,000 women have been trained in health, digital literacy, and financial education, enabling many to start home-based businesses. Additionally, more than 600 students have completed Google-certified courses through Circle’s programs.
Lecturer Maryam Mahmood highlighted the importance of digital empowerment and explained how platforms like “Circle Baaji” help women learn, connect, and build their careers.
Addressing the seminar, Vice Chancellor Dr. Piracha said the introductory session of the Circle Baaji Chatbot aims to familiarize students with digital learning opportunities essential for future success. The program will guide students on the chatbot’s core learning domains, online tools, and its potential to provide instant answers, enhance learning speed, and improve access to digital resources.
She added that such initiatives can open new employment avenues, strengthen digital proficiency, and build confidence among students. “Student welfare and guidance remain our top priority, and the effective use of modern technology is central to this mission,” she noted, emphasizing the need for similar activities in the future.
Dr. Khadija Kanwal, Director of the Institute of Computer Sciences, said virtual learning tools, e-libraries, online courses, and digital communication systems not only raise academic standards but also provide access to global learning resources. She said more workshops and seminars would continue to help students meet the demands of the digital era.
A question-and-answer session followed, during which students asked about the Circle Baaji Chatbot and other online services. Faculty members and students attended the seminar.
