MULTAN, Nov 18 (APP): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Multan Zone has arrested four suspects during a major crackdown on a human trafficking and visa fraud network. The arrested individuals include Gursh Farooq, Muhammad Mateen, Muhammad Usama and Muhammad Naveed.
According to the FIA spokesperson, the arrests were made during coordinated operations carried out in Lahore, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar and Rajanpur. Initial investigations revealed that the accused had been deceiving citizens by promising overseas employment and extorting large sums of money.
Farooq and Muhammad Usama allegedly collected Rs 1.423 million from citizens on the pretext of securing jobs in Oman. Meanwhile, Muhammad Mateen is accused of defrauding victims of Rs 2.75 million, claiming he could send them to the United Kingdom.
The agency further disclosed that proclaimed offender Muhammad Naveed had been involved in forgery and issuing fake visas. He had been wanted by the FIA Composite Circle Dera Ghazi Khan since 2022.
The FIA has initiated further investigations and stated that operations against human traffickers and related criminal networks will continue across the region.
