IIUI awards winners in student reel contest 2025

ISLAMABAD, Nov 18 (APP): The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) awarded its top-performing students at a ceremony held as part of the “IIUI Student Reel Contest 2025 – The Silent Hercules: Builders Behind the Scenes.”
The event was held at the university’s new campus under the chairmanship of President IIUI, Prof. Dr Ahmed Saad Alahmed, while the jury comprised senior journalist and content creator Fiaz Mahmood; Dr Asma Mansoor, In-Charge Protocol and Public Relations; Dr Qurat ul Ain Malik and Dr Rooh ul Amin, Assistant Professors at the Department of Media and Communication Studies; Dr Inaam ul Haq, Director Administration.  The ceremony was also joined by Dr Saleh Sulaiman A. Alghofaili, Advisor to the President IIUI, said a press release on Tuesday.
A total of 14 shortlisted reels were evaluated in the final round, out of which three videos were awarded positions, it added.
Entries were evaluated based on creativity, storytelling, technical quality, and thematic relevance, it emphasized.
Syeda Zainab Tehseen and her team members including Robina Nadeem and Kiran Awan secured the first prize, followed by  Muzzamil Hussain, Ali Asghar Hanjra and Muhammad Rehan who stood in second place and Saqib Alam and Muhammad Fawad Khan in third, it noted.
Shields and certificates were presented to the position holders as well as the employees featured in the reels, it underscored.
Addressing the ceremony, President IIUI appreciated the students’ enthusiasm and creativity and thanked the judges and participants.
The award ceremony also aimed to highlight and celebrate the hard work of the university’s unsung heroes — the labourers and custodial staff whose efforts ensure smooth functioning behind the scenes.
