DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Nov 18 (APP): Two separate road accidents happened in different areas claimed the lives of a father and son, while six others sustained injuries.
In the first incident, a motorcycle collided with a pickup van near Band Dhappanwala Bagh Sakoon within the jurisdiction of Gomal University Police Station. The crash left 21-year-old Nisar Iqbal and his 52-year-old father Gul Muhammad — residents of South Waziristan — critically injured. Two passengers travelling in the pickup, Hamza Dhapp (25) of Basti Dhappanwali, and Tayyab (18) of Shorkot, got also hurt.
All four were shifted to Civil Hospital Dera for emergency treatment. However, Nisar Iqbal succumbed to his injuries on the way, while his father also passed away later due to severe trauma.
In a separate incident, a truck overturned near Sheikh Mela in the jurisdiction of Mughal Kot Police Station after reportedly losing control due to overspeeding. The accident left three men — 27-year-old Gul Zamir Kuhawar, 24-year-old Idrees Khokhar, and 29-year-old Mumtaz Thota, all residents of Gandi Ashiq — got seriously injured. They were shifted to Darazinda Hospital.
