RAWALPINDI, Nov 18 (APP): The District Health Authority (DHA), Rawalpindi on Tuesday reported 10 new dengue cases during the last 24 hours. The daily dengue surveillance report shows 1,548 people have been diagnosed with dengue fever in the district so far this year.
According to the daily report, hospitals screened 23,656 suspected patients across Rawalpindi since January this year. Currently 10 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals. No death from dengue has occurred in the district this year.
Health teams have maintained intensive anti-mosquito operations during which 6,615,733 houses were checked and found larvae in 214,031 of them. They also checked 1,962,171 possible breeding sites, of which 29,274 were positive, and destroyed 243,305 larvae in all.
To enforce dengue SOPs, authorities registered 4,852 first information reports, sealed 1,945 premises, issued 3,767 challans and collected fines amounting to Rs. 11.45 million.
The Spokesman DHA, Dr. Waqar Ahmad said that the dengue situation remains under control, and urged residents to continue removing stagnant water from their homes and surroundings to prevent any further outbreak.
