Customs Peshawar seizes smuggled goods worth Rs 27.4m

ISLAMABAD, Nov 18 (APP):Customs Enforcement Peshawar has seized smuggled goods worth Rs 27.4 million after intercepting two motor vehicles arriving from the Quetta side.
In line with the FBR’s zero-tolerance policy against smuggling and under the instructions issued by the Chief Collector Customs (Enforcement), the staff of the Customs Interprovincial Joint Check Post stopped the vehicles and conducted a detailed inspection, said a news release here on Tuesday.
During a thorough inspection, the teams recovered a significant quantity of smuggled goods, including cigarette acetate tow, cigarette paper, cigarette filter-rod trays, sheesha flavours, huqqa pots and Dove soaps.
The seized items, along with the two offending vehicles, have been taken into custody in accordance with the law.
The total value of the case is estimated at Rs 27.4 million.
FBR remains committed to safeguarding the country’s economic interests by combating smuggling and implementing rigorous enforcement measures.
