WUHAN, Nov 18 (APP):A high-profile international delegation comprising 21 political spokespersons from Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and other regions visited the historic Lihuangpi Road Historical and Cultural Block in Wuhan on Tuesday.
The delegation was led by Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Commerce and senior PML-N spokesperson, said a release issued here.
The delegation toured the 604-meter Lihuangpi Road, celebrated as “Wuhan’s Most Beautiful Street.” Built in 1900 by residents of Huangpi District and later absorbed into the Russian Concession in Hankou, the street is renowned for its distinctive blend of European and Chinese architectural styles.
During the visit, delegates explored key landmarks, including the Bagong House, a 1910 red-brick mansion featuring Baroque design elements and originally built by Russian tea merchants, the Banov brothers. The group also visited the August 7th Meeting Site Memorial Hall, where the Communist Party of China convened its critical August 7th Meeting in 1927 amid intense political repression—an event that significantly influenced the course of the Chinese revolution.
Delegates received detailed briefings on Wuhan’s multicultural urban heritage and the CPC’s early revolutionary history, observing how China preserves sites of architectural beauty and political importance.
The visit is part of an ongoing multi-city program organized by the International Department of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC), designed to blend high-level political engagement with immersive cultural and historical experiences.
