PESHAWAR, Nov 17 (APP): Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi distributed scholarship cheques worth sixty four million rupees among three hundred forty seven students.
The ceremony was held at the Chief Ministers House on Monday.
He announced an additional three hundred million rupees for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Foundation. Two hundred million will go to settled districts and one hundred million to merged districts.
The Chief Minister said scholarships provide equal educational opportunities for middle-income and underprivileged families.
He stated no talented student should stop their education due to money problems. He called students the future of Pakistan and said they will lead the province and country one day.
He said the government invests in youth following Imran Khans vision. Quality education and better health are top priorities. Market-aligned subjects are being introduced so students can compete nationally and internationally. The aim is for graduates to find jobs or create jobs for others.
An internship program will launch so students do not remain unemployed after studies.
All government policies will focus on public welfare. The provincial government promises better governance and effective service delivery.
Officials gave a briefing before the ceremony. They said fifteen thousand applications were received for the three hundred forty seven scholarships. An online portal ensures an automated and transparent selection process.
Students receive free education in top institutions like GIK NUST IBA and Quaid-e-Azam University under the program.
Provincial Minister Meena Khan Afridi attended the ceremony along with education officials university heads and students.
