QUETTA, Nov 17 (APP): Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) Central Senior Leader Chaudhry Naeem Karim on Monday said that the holding of local government (LG) elections in Quetta would not only strengthen democracy but also help in solving the problems of the people at their doorsteps.
He said that the PML-N Balochistan would participate fully in the local government elections to be held in Quetta and achieve success.
In a statement issued by the PML-N Balochistan, Chaudhry Naeem Karim said that the Election Commission of Pakistan, implementing the orders of the Balochistan High Court, announced local government elections in Quetta and the process of submitting nomination papers has started as per the election schedule.
He said that local government elections are the backbone of democracy and the holding local government elections would help in solving the small problems of the people to a great extent.
He said that PML-N Balochistan would participate fully in the local government elections to be held in Quetta and contacts have also been started with allied parties in this regard.
He said that the party, just as it had won the general elections in Balochistan and would achieve a resounding victory in the local government elections in Quetta saying that the towns chairman and mayor of Quetta would also be from the PML-N.
He said that the PML-N candidates participating in the elections should maintain close contact with the people and convey the message of the PML-N to the people that the party is taking special interest in the development and prosperity of the country and Balochistan.
