LAHORE, Nov 17 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has called for responsible behavior on roads and strict adherence to traffic laws to prevent accidents.
In her message on the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, she said that thousands of families lose loved ones each year due to road mishaps, leaving behind immense grief. The CM urged citizens to prioritize their own safety and that of others, avoid using mobile phones while driving, observe speed limits, respect pedestrians, and drive with utmost care at all times.
Highlighting government initiatives, CM Maryam Nawaz said Punjab is taking comprehensive measures to enhance road safety, including stricter fines for traffic violators, vehicle fitness inspections, and enforcement of modern traffic management systems across districts. She noted that Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA) initiatives are playing a key role in improving public safety. “If everyone acts responsibly on the roads, accidents will decrease and the citizens of Pakistan will remain safe,” she added.
