Call for coordination to strengthen Women Protection Act implementation

FAISALABAD, Nov 17 (APP): Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Headquarters Zainab Jahandad emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination and the capacity building of frontline staff to ensure timely and survivor-centered assistance for women in emergency situations.
Chairing a crucial meeting on the Punjab Women Protection Act 2016 at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Monday, she noted that significant progress in protecting women requires well-trained staff, prompt action, and cohesive teamwork across departments.
She highlighted that collective efforts from all stakeholders are vital to establishing a system that fully protects women’s safety, dignity, and legal rights.
The meeting focused on enhancing the institutional and legal response mechanisms to ensure women facing violence or distress can receive immediate, coordinated, and rights-based support.
During the session, detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to the Punjab Women Protection Act 2016 were presented, followed by an in-depth discussion to ensure uniformity in service delivery,
