KARACHI, Nov 17 (APP): Karachi Police reported significant progress in crime-control operations conducted over the past week, following directives issued by Additional IGP Karachi Javed Alam Odho.
According to the spokesperson for Karachi Police on Monday, the police were involved in 19 armed encounters with robbers during the week. One suspect was killed, while 19 injured robbers were arrested along with 10 other accused, bringing the total arrests from encounters to 29. Police recovered 22 illegal weapons of various types and 11 motorcycles from their possession.
Across East, West and South zones, police arrested more than 807 suspects involved in different offences.
During ongoing anti-narcotics operations and encounters, police recovered narcotics worth millions of rupees, including 54.794 kilograms of charas, ice/crystal, and heroin.
From the arrested suspects, police also seized over 110 illegal weapons used in robberies and other criminal activities, along with ammunition.
In separate actions, Karachi Police recovered a total of 32 snatched and stolen motorcycles from various areas of the city.
