RAWALPINDI, Nov 17 (APP):The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi is intensifying efforts to enhance greenery and improve urban aesthetics, with its nurseries producing a wide range of high-quality plants and flowers under the special instructions of its Managing Director Ahmed Hassan Ranjha.
According to the PHA spokesman, the daily breeding, production and maintenance of multiple plant varieties, including shade trees and ornamental species, are being carried out in the nurseries to ensure self-sufficiency in plant availability across the city.
The spokesman said in a statement on Monday that the plants grown in the nurseries were regularly transplanted to public parks, greenbelts and various parts of Rawalpindi, contributing to a greener environment and improved visual appeal.
MD Ranjha also appreciated the PHA workers who, he said, were “performing their duties with skill and dedication”, ensuring proper care, seasonal plantation and continuous horticultural upkeep of the nurseries.
The Authority, he added, was committed to greening the city in line with the vision of the Punjab Government.
He further noted that, with the onset of cold weather, the PHA Rawalpindi had also initiated measures to safeguard delicate plants and flowers to maintain their health through the winter season.
