DIR UPPER, Nov 17 (APP):The national measles and rubella prevention campaign has formally commenced here on Monday.
In this regard, a meeting was held at the office of the District Health Officer, Upper Dir.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Relief and HR Sher Ali Khan, Member Provincial Assembly Advocate Anwar Khan, Deputy District Health Officer Dr. Nasir, Additional Assistant Commissioner Headquarters Salman Husam, Medical Superintendent District Headquarters Hospital Dr. Khalid Khan, Dr. Sahibzada Imtiaz Ahmad, and heads of all relevant departments participated in the meeting.
The measles, rubella vaccination campaign in Upper Dir will run from November 17 to November 29.
During this period, children aged 6 months to 5 years will receive the safe, effective, and WHO-approved vaccine free of cost.
This nationwide initiative is a significant step by the Government of Pakistan, being carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and other partner organizations.
Health department teams will be available at designated centers during specified hours to administer the vaccine.
