LAHORE, Nov 16 (APP): The suitable time for sowing onion nursery is till end of November and transplanting of seedlings to fields occurs in December and January.
A spokesman for the Punjab Agriculture department said here on Sunday that farmers must use 3 kilograms of onion seeds on per acre of land.
He further suggested growers to apply 1.5 bags of DAP (Diammonium Phosphate) and 1 bag of Potash per acre at the time of sowing.
Regarding land preparation spokesman said that prepare the land well and create small beds with 3-inch space in lines.
Spokesman said that farmers must feel free to seek guidance from the agriculture department to obtain good yield.
