MULTAN, Nov 16 (APP): The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has intensified its efforts to curb food adulteration, seizing 2.5 maunds of tainted red chilli powder during an operation in Vehari.
A PFA food safety team raided a grinding unit on Ratta Tibba Road near Adda Pakkhi Morr, where they discovered a large quantity of substandard red chilli powder mixed with artificial colouring agents.
The adulterated product, which was being packaged for distribution to local markets, was immediately discarded on-site, and the grinding unit’s production was halted until necessary improvements were made. The PFA has registered an FIR against the unit’s owner.
PFA Director General emphasized that food adulteration is a serious crime, and individuals responsible for endangering public health will face stringent legal action.
