LAHORE, Nov 16 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has urged citizens to embrace patience and mutual understanding as essential tools for peaceful coexistence.
In her message on the occasion of International Day for the Promotion of Tolerance, she said promoting tolerance is crucial in the current era of growing extremism and violent conflicts, noting that hatred, intolerance, and social incompatibility can only be countered through love, tolerance, and agreement.
The CM highlighted that the world faces numerous challenges due to intolerance and stressed that walking the path of tolerance is vital for maintaining social harmony. She cited the life of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as the ultimate example of patience and tolerance, noting his forgiving attitude even towards his severest adversaries. She added that Islam advocates peaceful living and tolerance, emphasizing that negative attitudes can harm both families and society at large.
CM Maryam Nawaz called on all sections of society to play their full role in fostering a culture of tolerance. “In order to combat intolerance, we must adopt patience, positive thinking, and best practices in our dealings with others,” she said, reaffirming her commitment to promoting tolerance across Punjab.
