PESHAWAR, Nov 16 (APP): In a joint operation conducted by the police and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Bannu and Lakki Marwatt districts, seven Khawarij were eliminated, police informed on Sunday.
According to police, the operation carried out the other day, in the border area of Takhti Khel/Howaid, where intelligence indicated the presence of members belonging to the militant group Fitna-ul-Khawarij. The local population actively supported the security forces during the action.
The operation was conducted under the direct supervision of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bannu, Sajjad Khan. Residents praised the efforts of the security forces, stating that the public stands firmly beside the police in efforts to restore and maintain peace.
RPO Sajjad Khan reiterated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police remain fully committed to ensuring peace and protecting the public. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, lauded the efforts of the police teams from both Bannu and Lakki Marwat for the successful operation.
All police personnel remained safe during the operation.
