MULTAN, Nov 16 (APP): The Department of Applied Psychology at the Women University Multan (WUM), in collaboration with the Counseling and Well-Being Centre, organised a training workshop titled “Trauma-Informed Interviewing: A Practical Workshop on Ethical and Sensitive Approaches.”
According to the university spokesperson, senior psychologist and Manager of the Women Protection Centre ,(Violence against women centre), Muneeza Manzoor Butt, served as the resource person.
She guided students on ethical, sensitive and empathetic interviewing techniques for survivors of violence and trauma.
She said professional training, psychological safety and a compassionate, unbiased attitude were essential when dealing with trauma-affected individuals. Understanding their emotions, listening respectfully and communicating without judgment form the core of effective psychological support, she added.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kulsoom Paracha said that adopting trauma-informed practices was not only a professional requirement but also a moral and humanitarian obligation. She said WUM would continue to promote such training programs to strengthen students academically, socially and psychologically.
Dr Sadiqa Mashraf, Head of the Applied Psychology Department and Director of the Counseling and Well-Being Centre, along with students, also attended the workshop.
