ISLAMABAD, Nov 15 (APP): Pakistan outplayed Sri Lanka by 211 runs in the 1st Blind Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup at the BOI Cricket Ground, Colombo.
According to details, earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl first, a decision that quickly proved costly. Pakistan’s opening pair produced a record-breaking batting display that dominated the innings from start to finish.
Leading from the front, Mehreen Ali produced an exceptional innings, scoring an unbeaten 230 runs off 78 deliveries, establishing a new world record for the highest individual score in any International T20 format of Blind Women’s Cricket. She was ably supported by Hooria Malik, who contributed a solid 69 not out off 49 balls.
Their partnership enabled Pakistan to post an imposing total of 331 runs in the allotted 20 overs without losing a wicket, a milestone achievement in the tournament’s history.
In response, Sri Lanka scored 120 runs for the loss of three wickets, unable to match the target under the competitive framework of the gold-standard women’s blind cricket format. For Pakistan Noor Fatima, Hooria Malik and Sumera Malik took 1 wicket each. Mehreen Ali was declared Player of the Match.
