LAHORE, Nov 15 (APP): Deputy Commissioner (DC) Syed Musa Raza has ordered immediate spraying and sticker marking in ten houses where dengue larvae were detected, as part of intensified anti-dengue operations in the city.
He issued the directions during a field visit to Ladhair in Tehsil Sadar, where he reviewed the performance of surveillance teams and assessed on-ground implementation of SOPs.
Health department officials briefed the Deputy Commissioner that all field squads are following Standard Operating Procedures, conducting weekly follow-up inspections, and marking houses where larvae are found. They reported that surrounding houses are sprayed without delay to prevent further spread. A significant reduction in the presence of dengue larvae has also been observed owing to the recent drop in temperature.
DC Lahore Syed Musa Raza stressed that public health is a top priority and termed the anti-dengue drive a national duty. He warned that negligence in SOP compliance would not be tolerated and directed that surveillance be strengthened, made faster, and more effective. He further instructed that citizen awareness on dengue prevention must be expanded and that follow-up visits be ensured under all circumstances.
For public convenience, the Deputy Commissioner directed immediate redressal of complaints. Citizens may contact the Control Room at 0307-0002345 or reach out via the District Administration Lahore’s social media pages for quick assistance. The district administration reiterated that its anti-dengue efforts will continue without compromise until every area is secured.
