LAHORE, Nov 14 (APP): Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari on Friday said that those attempting to dissolve the assembly through unconstitutional means are unwilling to accept the supremacy of Parliament, asserting that the era of suo motu interventions has come to an end.
In her statement, she stressed that all state institutions operate within the framework of the Constitution, and true civilian supremacy lies in the authority vested in Parliament.
Azma Bokhari praised the Pakistan Armed Forces for earning global recognition for the country, recalling that the Pakistan Army, in May, compelled an adversary five times larger to surrender within hours. She said the sacrifices of the Armed Forces in protecting the nation’s peace and security can never be forgotten.
She added that under the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, the Pakistan Army carved history on May 10. Both General Asim Munir and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Baber, she noted, have gained the nation’s admiration for their unwavering commitment to Pakistan’s defense.
The minister reiterated that Pakistan’s Army, Air Force, and Navy rank among the most professional and courageous forces in the world. Criticizing those questioning the pace of recently passed constitutional amendments, she said their objections reflect discomfort with the country’s democratic processes and constitutional development.
