ISLAMABAD, Nov 14 (APP): Capital Hospital Islamabad has inaugurated the twin cities’ first public Neurology and Stroke Centre, alongside a Paediatric Dermatology Unit and a Telemedicine Department, in a ceremony held to mark World Diabetes Day.

Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, officially opened the new facilities on Friday, highlighting the importance of patient-centred care and access to modern medical equipment.

“In this era, timely diagnosis, advanced technology, and research are vital to treat complex diseases effectively,” he said, commending the hospital for its focus on public health and awareness campaigns for diabetes, stroke, and other chronic illnesses.
Dr Naeem Taj, Executive Director of Capital Hospital, said the new centres will strengthen the hospital’s commitment to high-quality, compassionate care.
He emphasised the role of a multidisciplinary approach and telemedicine in modern healthcare and the hospital’s ambition to become a centre of excellence in the region.
The event concluded with Chairman Randhawa joining an awareness walk for World Diabetes Day and presenting shields to doctors who contributed to research and participated in the programme.
