ISLAMABAD, Nov 14 (APP):Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi visited the Islamabad District Courts on Friday to inspect the site of the recent bomb blast and express solidarity with the legal community affected by the tragic incident.
During his visit, the Governor met with members of the District Bar Association, including President Chaudhry Naeem Gujjar, Vice Chairman Nasir Ahmed Kayani, Raja Muhammad Shakeel Abbasi, Chaudhry Muhammad Usman, and other lawyers.
He conveyed heartfelt condolences over the loss of lives in the blast and offered prayers for the elevation of ranks of the martyrs as well as the swift recovery of the injured.
Governor Kundi condemned the bombing in strong terms, stressing the need for decisive action to curb the rising incidents of terrorism across the country.
He said that the people of Pakistan, particularly those of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, have made immense sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
He acknowledged that all segments of society, including the legal fraternity, have suffered due to acts of terror.
“The sacrifices of our martyrs will never go in vain. Allah willing, the day is not far when sustainable peace will prevail throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the entire country,” he said.
The Governor added that the purpose of his visit to the District Courts and Bar was to pay tribute to the martyrs of the recent attack and show solidarity with the lawyers and the families affected by the tragedy.
Governor Kundi said that the nation had previously overcome far greater challenges, including defeating a much larger adversary like India, and expressed confidence that the country would also prevail against “a handful of terrorists.”
He said a major jirga had recently been convened in the KP Assembly to advance efforts for lasting peace, adding that all political parties were valued and respected in this process.
The Governor reiterated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had rendered the highest number of sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
Speaking to media, Governor Kundi revealed that following the recent incident, several tweets and online statements emerged from Afghanistan, attempting to exploit the situation.
He said that in most such attacks across the country, Afghan nationals are found involved, despite Pakistan having hosted millions of Afghan citizens for decades.
“We treated Afghan refugees like our own brothers and sisters, yet hostile elements continue to act against Pakistan,” he said, adding that countries like Israel and India are using the Afghan government for their own agendas.
